What it is: free radicals?

Radicals

(free RA-dih-kul) is a type of unstable molecule that is formed during normal cell metabolism (chemical changes occurring in the cell). Free radicals can accumulate in cells and damage other molecules, such as DNA, lipids, and proteins. This damage may increase the risk of cancer and other diseases.
