The Ministry of Environmental Protection presents: Research scholarships for students on environmental issues

Environmental groups harshly criticize the government for delaying the enactment of a significant climate law: "Public funds are being wasted instead of investing them in immediate preparations."

News summary

"The Ministry of Environmental Protection is providing NIS 1 million in scholarships for outstanding graduate and doctoral students for academic research in the fields of the environment and the climate crisis, led by the Ministry's Chief Scientist, Prof. Noga Kronfeld-Schor.

Students will be able to receive NIS 50,000-130,000 per scholarship for two to four years in research areas such as climate crisis preparedness, waste treatment, and promoting a circular economy and preserving open spaces. The goal of the support program, led by the Ministry's Chief Scientist, is to enrich knowledge and human capital in Israel, and to increase the number of academic graduates engaged in research in environmental fields.

"The award of scholarships will increase the utilization of the existing potential in institutions and researchers for the development of these fields of knowledge," says Prof. Kronfeld-Schor. "I call on environmental researchers to continue the important work that helps us as a ministry and as a society to deal with the environmental challenges facing us."
